It happens when there are too many visitors on the website, and there are not enough substitute numbers for calltracking. Because of this, one substitute number on the website is shown to several visitors, and the accuracy of the calltracking is decreasing.
To solve this problem, Roistat added the possibility to install the backup number to the project. The backup number is used when there are not enough substitution numbers.
Example: there are 5 visitors on the website, but you have only 3 substitution numbers. The first visitor dials the first substitution number, the second one dials the second number, and the third one calls the third number. However, there are not enough numbers, and the call of the fourth visitor is redirecting to the first substitution number, and the call of the fifth visitor - to the second substitution number. As a result, the accuracy of calltracking is decreasing.
If you have the reserve number, the calls of fourth and fifth visitors (and the calls of other visitors for which there are not enough numbers) will come to the backup number, and the accuracy of the calltracking will be a hundred percent.
To configure the backup number, choose the vacant number from the list of substitution numbers and make this number backup.
You can create only one backup number in each project. All calls dialed on the backup number will be readdressed to the number specified in the first activated scenario.
Calls dialed on the backup number have the Backup number status in the Scenario column.
Calls dialed on the backup number are going to the Unknown channel.
If no backup numbers are chosen in the project, you will see the following message: "You can add the backup number. It will be used when there are not enough substitution numbers. In this case, the accuracy of the calltracking will be a hundred percent".
